The Institute's success stems from the high quality of students that knock its doors every year. Admission to the Institute is strictly on the basis of merit determined by its own admission test. There are no special quotas, reserved seats or admission by donations. Nor is there any age limit for the applicants.

About the Test 
Admission to the Bachelor programs of the Institute is decided on the basis of candidates' score in the admission test, which comprises multiple-choice questions based on the Pakistani intermediate level Physics, Mathematics and Basic English (reading comprehension, sentence completion and antonyms). The test is held simultaneously at Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi. 

The test is typically held in the first week of July. 

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants must have one of the following qualifications with an overall score of at least 60% excluding NCC marks (in case of a & b):
a.
F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering)or Polytechnic Diploma in Engineering from a Pakistani Board of Education
b.
B.Sc.(Physics and Mathematics)
c.
3 A-Levels (Math, Physics & Chemistry) and 7 O-Levels(no "E" or lower grade in Mathematics and Physics in A-levels)
d.
American or Canadian High School Diploma(Grade 12) with Calculus
e.
International Baccalaureatewith Calculus
Applicants studying Computer Science in lieu of Chemistry at their F.Sc./A-Level can apply only for Computer Software Engineering.
Candidates may apply for provisional admission if they have complete one of the above courses but have not yet taken the examination or received their results.
